1. Location Data: StopTracker requests access to your device's location (GPS) solely to calculate the distance to nearby transit stops and sort them by proximity. This location data is processed entirely locally on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers, never stored, and never shared with third parties.
2. Network Requests & Security: When you request bus times, the app contacts our servers. To prevent server abuse and ensure the stability of the service, we monitor and temporarily log standard network routing information, including your IP address. If a user exceeds our rate limits, their IP address may be temporarily stored to enforce a block. This data is used strictly for security purposes, is automatically purged, and is never used for tracking, marketing, or profiling.
3. Third-Party Services (Maps): StopTracker on Android uses OpenStreetMap to display interactive transit maps. When you view the map, your device connects directly to OpenStreetMap's servers to download map images (tiles). During this process, OpenStreetMap receives standard network information, including your IP address. This is a technical requirement to display the map. We do not share any of your GPS location data with OpenStreetMap. For more information, please review the OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy.
